  • Revival of the famed traditional art of Chikankari which has reached a nadir in craft refinement as well as the living standards of its highly skilled artisans.
  • Providing self employment from 31 women in 1984 to over 10000 women artisans as on date.
  • Empowering women to bargain for their rights.
  • Empowering rural women for understanding their political and legal rights.
  • Making the women confident of their ability to interact and take decisions on their own.
  • Encouraging habit of savings among the most underprivileged sections of the society and providing them with avenues for efficient mobilization as women are credit worthy.
  • Providing housing and repair loans to 500 women artisans for which SEWA Lucknow was  the guarantor for the artisans.
  • Improved 3 localities in the urban slum of Lucknow by providing Sewer lines, individual toilets, drainage, pavements, solid waste management and safe drinking water with community partnership. For attaining sustainability and long time maintenance, Community Based Organisations (CBOs) were formed and handed over to them. Since 1999 the project is still functioning very well.
  • Linking 1500 under privileged people in the urban areas of Lucknow to Micro Credit Programme.
  • Linking more than 1000 women with Indian Bank as independent entrepreneurs
  • SEWA Lucknow  upgrading its school up to  standard ten for the children of the artisans and community for over  two decades.
  • Mainstreaming of 5716 children in Government and Private school under the Janshala Programme in 2002-03.
  • Establishing the brand equity of SEWA Lucknow as a nationally and internationally accredited institution for products with finest quality and finish.
  • Implementing an unique marketing strategy of the SEWA Lucknow
  • Being able to take up the products of the artisans to a level where the Miss India aspirants displayed them in a fashion show ( Femina India Bridal Show)  in Mumbai.
  • Linking 6160 women with nationalized Banks and other financial institutions as independent entrepreneurs SEWA Lucknow provides technical and marketing support to them.
  • SEWA Lucknow a member of Fair Trade Forum India
  • SEWA Lucknow's a member of the, World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO)
  • Being able to train more than 2250 persons in 600 Panchayat committees and strengthen them in one block each of Barabanki and Raibarelli district in Uttar Pradesh
  • Being successful through awareness building of women in acquiring 50% seats in place of 33% officially reserved seats for Women Pradhans in the last PRI elections from the project areas.
  • Covers 10 districts of Uttar Pradesh, One district of Uttaranchal with one district of Gujrat. The intensity of coverage however varies.
  • Establishing SEWA Lucknow as a brand image for Social and Economic Development Organization for marginalized women through its income generation activities.
